The UPUA Student Assembly | Meeting Schedule
WELCOME
The UPUA Assembly is in summer recess from April 24th, 2008 until August 27th, 2008 and thus will not convene. During the Summer the Steering Committee will meet in limited form electronically to deliberate on urgent matters of concern for the student body in accordance with the authority vested in the Steering Committee in Article 3, Section 6-1 of the UPUA Assembly Bylaws.
MEETING SCHEDULE
The first meeting of the fall 2008 semester will be Wednesday August 27th at 8:00pm in 302 HUB. Below is the complete meeting list. The public is always welcome.

The agenda and relevant documents for the upcoming meeting will be posted no sooner than the Monday prior to the meeting on the Main Page
MEETING TYPES
Besides the initial meeting following a general election in the spring, there are three meeting types of the Assembly, which vary only slightly to allow the Assembly to effectively carry out the work of the undergraduate student body. All meetings, including committee meetings, are open to the public unless the Assembly or committee enters into executive session (see UPUA Constitution §§8.1.4 or the Assembly Bylaws §§4.10). The three meeting types are the following described below:

2. Town Hall
3. Work Session
General -
The Assembly shall convene for the transacting of business every Wednesday, except during work session weeks, during the Fall and Spring Semesters at 8:00pm EST, unless adjusted by the Chair with consent of the President. These proceedings shall be considered General Meetings and follow the procedures below. The agenda shall be set by the Chair, distributed by the Clerk, and published by the Secretary for public view at least one (1) academic day in advance of a meeting.
During the beginning of the meeting there will be an Open Student Forum which will allow any and all students three (3) minutes to bring matters before the Assembly. Representatives may ask questions for five (5) minutes after presentation.
Town Hall -
One (1) General Meeting every four (4) academic weeks shall be considered a Town Hall meeting and follow procedures established below. The agenda for a Town Hall Meeting shall contain the same provisions as a General Meeting with several modifications.
Students and group may more elaborately presentation to the Assembly with power point etc. and be given more time . Groups or speakers will present in the order they request
No speaker or group should be denied the right to speak for any reason. Use of the Floor for presentation is limited to five (5) minutes per speaker and group. Representatives may ask questions for five (5) minutes after presentation.
If you wish to be placed on the Town Hall presentation list or require special accommodations please email the Assembly Chair no sooner than 7 days before the next Town Hall meeting to ensure you are properly placed on the presentation list.
Work Session -
One (1) General Meeting every four (4) academic weeks shall be in Work-Session format and be subject to all procedures set herein for meetings of said type. During this week, the convening of Committees shall count towards the weekly meeting requirement and there will be no require full Assembly meeting. The Assembly may call a special session to precede a Work Session meeting or choose to convene as a committee-of-the whole by a majority vote at a preceding General Meeting.
